Get ready for the future: interior design meets Augmented Reality

Archiproducts and Sayduck take the wraps off their new Mobile AR App including over 5.000 products to furnish your home: now more 3D models can be placed in a single space contemporarily

To choose furniture, all you need is a smartphone and a free App.That’s how Archiproducts and Sayduck are changing the way we furnish our spaces. The two brands have joined forces again, launching their brand new Mobile AR App based on the much-hyped Apple ARKit platform. Now you can compose a real interior design project in a few seconds and see how products look in real time in real spaces. The advantage is in the offer: people can choose among over 5.000 products purchasable online, iconic objects signed by the best designers, acclaimed worldwide. Sayduck is the only app in the world collecting the best in interior design, with the products of international brands like Flos, Vitra, Artek, Carl Hansen, Cassina, Minotti, Molteni, Flexform, Poltrona Frau, Artemide, B&B Italia, Zanotta, Walter Knoll, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Louis Poulsen, Magis, Arper, Bang & Olufsen, Anglepoise, Muuto, Normann Copenhagen, Varier and many more. It’s the journey from digital to virtual that the Archiproducts team started in 2015, investing in Sayduck, the Anglo-Finnish startup that created an Augmented Reality system to visualize, through an App, a 3D model of an object in a real space. Today the two brands are introducing an important update of the App, allowing people not just to see scaled products with a 98% precision, but also making it possible to insert more 3D models within the same space and configure them in real time, changing colors, materials and lights (on/off). This is one of the main features that make the Sayduck App different from Ikea Place, always based on the ARKit technology: it’s not only possible to visualize more objects at the same time in the same space, but while the choice in Ikea Place is limited to the products of its catalogue, on Sayduck the most interesting objects coming from the best design brands worldwide are available. Some objects on the App can be purchased online, directly on Archiproducts Shop (shop.archiproducts.com), while others can be ordered from the producers or resellers on the platform. The App is extremely easy to use. Just download the “Sayduck” App, click on “Try out” on the product sheet of the item, and this will magically appear in a real space in front of you. From this moment on, it can be placed and configured in the colors and materials chosen. By repeating the operation, it’s possible to visualize more products at the same time and to virtually furnish your spaces. “It’s a real revolution” – says Enzo Maiorano, co-founder and Art Director of Archiproducts“Augmented Reality makes it easier to choose furniture for your house, your office and even for public places and business premises, redefining the online furniture-buying experience. It’s possible to “try out” pieces of furniture signed by the best brands and designers selling on Archiproducts, using the precision granted by ARKit. In this way people can also see the warp of the fabric and the effect of lights and shadows on products.”

“We are excited to launch the new Sayduck app together with Archiproducts”
 – says Niklas Slotte, CEO and co-founder of Sayduck“The time for AR is now and together with Archiproducts we can get maximum reach for this amazing technology.” The App will be officially premiered on 9th October in Milan, at the Microsoft House during Brera Design Days. Niklas Slotte (co-founder of Sayduck) and Alexander Indorato (Archiproducts + Sayduck AR product manager), will explain how Augmented Reality is going to enhance communication and selling strategies, improving the efficiency of interior design projects.
