ENG: 75 MLN web sessions, strong growth in average turnover and boom in online sales
In 2020, we celebrated our first twenty years of activity. We are now leaving behind a year that was as complicated as it was full of satisfaction: 255 days of smart working; hundreds of hours of video calls; 20 new staff members; 2,500 square metres for a larger headquarters. But, most of all, 2020 was our best year ever in terms of web traffic, e-commerce and lead generation, with exponential growth in numbers of users, brands and products in our catalogue and massive amounts of orders from all over the world. Web traffic. The Archiproducts network logged 75 MLN web sessions and 43 MLN users!Archiproducts.com recorded increases that surpassed all expectations, closing the year with 35 MLN sessions, 20 MLN users and 130 MLN page views (up 45% from 2019!). Our online users are mainly from Europe and North America. The USA became the leading non-EU market for web traffic (over 3 MLN users), followed by Italy, Germany, France, Spain and the UK. Mobile use outstripped desktop traffic on Archiproducts for the first time! Last year, more than 10 million people used tablets and mobile phones (up 50%) to browse catalogues, request information, and purchase online. Some merit for these figures can go to the optimisation of our mobile application that we started working on some time ago with a dedicated team of UX and UI designers.
Our Community: increasingly international and increasingly social. More users are choosing Archiproducts as their go-to resource to find inspiration, to plan, furnish and buy the best of international Design, which is why the incredible growth in traffic goes hand in hand with our Community growth. 3.7 million registered users come from all over the world, and our fan base has reached 5 million followers on social media: Facebook -1.5 million; Instagram – 2 million; Pinterest -1.2 million; other channels – 300,000.
The Shop won’t stop!Online sales at Archiproducts Shop reflected the increase in web traffic. In merely 5 years, our e-commerce shop has achieved remarkable numbers: 20,000 satisfied customers and 30,000 total orders from 65 countries worldwide. With a 100% online sales increase, 2020 was clearly an important motor for online sales, gearing up to unexpected heights! Today our catalogue counts 800 premium international brands and some 50,000 products for sale. On Black Friday alone, we sold 3,000 products and collected €1.5 million from shopping cart purchases. We had one order every 60 seconds! Topping the list of best-selling brands during the hottest promotional period of the year were Flos, Artemide, Nude, Danese Milano, Vitra, Knoll, Poltrona Frau, Louis Poulsen, Qeeboo and Slamp. Users preferred the Furnishings, Lighting and Home Décor categories and were mainly interested in smart working products and accessories.
The largest Architecture and Design catalogue is now even more extensive. Archiproducts has always been the world’s largest virtual Architecture and Design Fair. Our digital catalogue now includes 3,500 exhibiting brands – of which 460 new brands – and 300,000 products. In 2020 alone, 40,000 new product sheets were created! This success can also be attributed to New 2020, a totally online showcase designed to meet the demand of manufacturers who want to present new products to the international market in the absence of trade fairs and events. At the end of the year, the ‘New 2020’ section reached over 100,000 visitors worldwide (with 250,000 page views). Big numbers for the fifth edition of the 2020 Archiproducts Design Awards dedicated to excellence in international design. 750 products were submitted from all over the world – from Canada to India to the United States to Japan. A jury of 60 of the most cutting-edge international architecture studios, designers, creative directors, editors, photographers and creative hubs evaluated the entries.
There was also an exponential growth in requests for BIM and 3D services. More companies than ever are relying on our knowledge and expertise in digital transformation in order to create and publish their files. In 2020, we counted 160,000 hosted BIM and 3D files and over 1.1 MLN downloads.
Excellent results for our Advertising services. Direct email marketing was clearly the favourite service of both brands and users. A total of 750,000 users subscribed to one of our email marketing channels (up 17% from 2019), of which 485,000 professionals registered for the Archiproducts DEM newsletters. The number of display ad impressions has increased significantly: a total of 240 MLN for Archiproducts!
New year? New records!‘We’re celebrating our success, but also thinking about the challenges of the new year,” says Enzo Maiorano, Co-Founder and Art Director of Archiproducts. Archiproducts is kicking off 2021 with new records. January has already been the best ever for monthly traffic. In just 30 days, we obtained our highest numbers of monthly users (2.3 million), sessions (3.4 million) and page views (14.5 million). E-commerce is also off to a great start. In January 2021, we brought home a 118% increase in orders over January 2020. We are also boosting investments in our Design Centre to grow our support, consultancy and customer care services. “With the benefit of these results, we keep on looking with trust to the future.
