Here are the winners of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024!

On Thursday, November 14, the ArchiproductsDesign Awards 2024 ceremony unfolded in the industrialSuperstudio space. The event gathered leading figures from the global design and architecture scene to celebrate the ninth edition of the prestigious awards!

Archiproducts Design Awards 2024: Insights from the Leading

Voices Live from Rome, Lorenza Baroncelli-Architect and Director of the Department of Architecture and Contemporary Design at MAXXI–shared her insights as a member of the ADA 2024 jury: “It has been a great honor to be part of the Archiproducts Design Awards jury, alongside names like OMA, Carlo Ratti, Francesca Cesa Bianchi, and Jan Boelen. This award gives institutions like MAXXI an accurate representation of the evolution of contemporary design. What I think emerges from it is a very articulated scene, where technology merges with aesthetic research, giving life to products that combine innovation and functionality.”

Enzo Maiorano, CMO, CCO & Co-Founder of Archiproducts, paid tribute to the jurors and their work, “Together, every day, we introduce, narrate and propose design for small and large projects all over the world, cultivating a fundamental value: knowing how to recognize excellence. So, I want to thank all our jurors, among whom are OMA, Mecanoo, Studio Libeskind, Norm Architects, Stefano Boeri Interiors, HectorEsrawe, Mesura Studio, Pitsou Kedem, Apollo Architects, Hannes Peer, Gabriele Chiave and Salotto as well as all the jurors for the Sustainability Award, including Carlo Ratti and Mario Cucinella”.

Representing the ADA 2024 jury, Davide Angeli of AMDL Circle accepted the jury seal, the CEADESIGN miniature stainless steel house, a symbolic recognition of the valuable contribution of all the jurors to the ADA 2024 Awards: “We strongly believe that the Archiproducts Awards have become increasingly popular and desirable due to its diverse and multidisciplinary jury. Each of us brings a unique perspective and a deep, personal understanding of design, which ensures that this prize reflects a broad spectrum of thought and expertise.”

Patricia Urquiola was named Designer of the Year 2024. Roberta Dragone, Archiproducts Executive Editor, presented the award, “The Designer of the Year award is intended to recognize the value of what has been done in recent months, but above all to honor a contribution that will become a true legacy. The title is awarded to Urquiola not only for the number of her award-winning products but above all for her overall professional career, her humanistic approach to design, her eye for exploring the possibilities of craft artistry through new technologies, and her versatility in interpreting materials, with always original and unmistakable results.”

Invited to the stage, Patricia Urquiola stated, “A thousand thanksArchiproductsfor this award. I am possibly one of those designers who in this period have a brutalist approach to design, and who are obsessed with the search for the beauty and the ugly in materials, and it is not so easy to work with companies that are your accomplices in exploring new generation materials. I am happy to be here tonight because I have seen several pieces that I really appreciate. I like to think of it as an award for all of us!”

Highlighting Made in Puglia Design: the ADA 2024 Special Mention

This year, the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 shines a light on the ‘state of the art’ in design and architecture, exploring how design expresses identity by reflecting places, cultures, materials and people. Based on Archiproducts’ roots, the 2024 edition, in collaboration with Regione Puglia, kicked off a Special Mention to celebrate twelve brands that embody Apulian design excellence.

On stage Alessandro Delli Noci, Regional Councillor for Economic Development Puglia Region, and Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, Chief Creative Officer of the Natuzzi Group.

“With the valuable support of Archiproducts, we hope, thanks also to Archiproducts, that our excellences will open up more and more to foreign markets,” says Alessandro Delli Noci. “And we also want to tell you that Puglia is ready to welcome designers from all over the world, with specific economic measures that can support their talent. As for this, maybe next year we might consider hosting this event right in Puglia. Another thing I am very proud of is sharing this stage with an Apulian whose company is a symbol of the full potential of our design in the world: PJ Natuzzi!”

“When I started leading Natuzzi’s creativity and marketing, I had a clear vision: to make Puglia our inspiring muse,” says Pasquale Junior Natuzzi. “A dream rooted in the history of my family and the company. My father founded Natuzzi 65 years ago with the ambition to create a brand deeply connected to our land. After a few decades, I had the honor of giving it a new impetus, evolving and elevating it. I sensed that storytelling linked to Puglia would be the key to creating unique collaborations. Over the years, I have actively sought diversity, because I believe it is the real driving force behind innovation. Designers from different cultures and backgrounds have been able to reinterpret Natuzzi with fresh eyes. I am grateful to this community and Archiproducts for supporting me in this journey. But most of all, I have to be grateful for diversity. In a time when this value is often misunderstood, I hope that we creatives, tonight and always, continue to celebrate and support the differences that make us unique.”

Expanding boundaries: The Archiproducts Global Trade Network

The evening was an opportunity to reinforce new strategic partnerships. Ferdinando Napoli, CEO and founder of Archiproducts said:

“Tonight, with our strategic partners, we launch Archiproducts China and Archiproducts India, which are two building blocks for constructing and expanding our Global Trade Network. The network, which will accompany our partner companies on the international markets with increasing efficiency and knowledge, will add value to what Archiproducts already represents as a global benchmark with the expertise of strategic players perfectly integrated into those areas of the world where architecture and design are enjoying great momentum amid great social, architectural, cultural and economic change”, explains Ferdinando Napoli. “As a symbolic act, we are presenting them with this catalog, which represents the excellence that the world of design has to offer to the offices, companies and projects transforming their beautiful countries.”
